About the Onsen (Hot Spring)

Soak for three days, and you
won’t catch a cold for three years.

Shirahone Onsen has more than a dozen naturally flowing hot spring sources.
When the water first emerges, it is clear, gradually turning milky white as time passes.
As you surrender yourself to these ancient waters, the sharp edges of the heart begin to soften.

Inns & Facilities

The sounds of clear streams and songbirds
echo through the mountains.

Inns and shops are scattered throughout a mountain valley deep in the Japanese Alps.
Onsen sources and hospitality vary from place to place
— what remains unchanged are ancient waters and the hearts of those who preserve them.
